Carnac's world-famous heritage
You can't go camping in Carnac without visiting the megalithic site's stone alignments! Come and discover the mystery of this place steeped in legends, where the menhirs and dolmens stand proudly for several kilometres, all the way to La Trinité-sur-Mer. The incredible sites of Ménec and Kermario have around 3,000 menhirs that are over 6,000 years old. You can learn more about Carnac's famous Neolithic alignments by visiting the Museum of Prehistory. This museum will take you on a journey through time with its exhibitions of fascinating objects discovered at Morbihan's archaeological sites. A fun and educational attraction suitable for all ages! Don't miss the Manio Giant, the tallest menhir in Carnac. You can gaze upon this imposing stone, standing over 6.5 metres tall, while enjoying a pleasant forest walk.
But Carnac's heritage also includes other very impressive human creations, for example the sumptuous Church of Saint-Cornely, one of Morbihan's finest religious buildings. Lastly, you can't have heritage without gastronomy, so head to the Anse du Pô, a superb oyster farming site, to taste some oysters from Quiberon Bay! Savouring seafood while gazing at the Atlantic Ocean and letting yourself be soothed by the lapping sound of the waves... an amazing privilege that you simply mustn't miss out on during your holidays in Morbihan.
